Infinix Hot Review
I had to get a new phone because my blackberry had packed up. I didn’t have any particular phone in mind, I just wanted a dual sim phone that had Whatsapp (for business reasons) and it had to cost around N10,000 (I’m the real cheapskate!)
You can’t imagine my joy when Konga introduced the Infinix Hot! It was N12,500 but I ended up paying N13,400 for it because the colour I wanted sold out so while waiting, the offer ended( the price has increased again to N14,900 so I dont feel bad again š )
The Infinix Hot is a low end phone, so it can’t really be compared to higher end phones like the Samsung S5 or Note 3 there’s a notable difference in the specs, it’s just a device that gets you going necessary things like instant messaging, emails, pictures, phone calls text messaging and some others that a smart phone has to offer. It has a simple design with a 5 inch screen which gives adequate real estate for your multimedia experience.
The screen resolution is quite low,its Ā 854 x 480 pixels plus the pixel denisty is 196 ppi,I dont expect much from a N13,000 phone
The body is made of plastic but it’s quite durable, it has fallen off my hands/bed so many times and I haven’t had any problems. It has a changeable back cover (you can switch for the unique type that glows at night) with a honeycomb texture that offers some friction when gripped.
The device has the earphone jack and USB port at the top. The power button is placed under the volume controls on the right side.
One major reason I love the Infinix Hot is the type of dual sim port it has. It comes in two different sizes, a micro and Mini which means you can use both a micro SIM and a Mini SIM at the same time so whichever SIM you have, Infinix has saved you the headache of going to look for where to cut your SIM to size.
The device runs Android 4.4.2 Kitkat and supports OTA upgrade. It comes with a 1GB RAM and a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It has a Mali-400 MP2 GPU.
Infinix Hot has comes with an internal memory of 16GB and supports SD card up to 32GB.
The phone has a 5MP primary camera with auto-focus. It also has a LED flash for taking pictures in the dark. The front-facing 2MP camera too is quite okay for taking selfies.
Under normal outdoor lighting condition, the 5MP camera is impressive. Although this canāt be compared with images taken with my Samsung Note 3 but hey its a low end phone so no complaints there .
