Victoria Ku the Beautiful Up and Coming Artist behind the Brush
Having always loved Art, Victoria had never dreamed that her passion would be possible as a career. Sometimes it takes someone to come into your life with the absolute belief in your talents to make you realise that you have what it takes to succeed. When asked what it took to turn her passion into a profession Victoria said, “Having a great partner, that believes in me. He showed me how to drop my walls as an artist and just paint my feelings. I always love art, but this is what drove me to become an artist.”
Many use art as a therapeutic stress reliever, others as an outlet for their feelings. For Victoria, she creates her masterpieces through authenticity and passion, letting what comes from inside her flow on to the canvas as an expression of her feelings. “I don’t have a formal technique, it just comes naturally. My art is my emotions and feelings at the time I’m painting, whether love or anger, fear or exhilaration.”
Victoria has a love of art and admiration for artists of different styles and media. Rather than looking at one specific artist or style, she looks at each piece individually. “I like all different types of art, not one artist specifically. Looking at different artists and how they express themselves through their art is something to truly admire.”
Like most artists, Victoria strives to make others feel something through her artwork, connection with the different pieces on a deeper emotional level. Whether the feeling is that of the artist or a completely different emotion altogether, the ultimate goal is to evoke something through her work, leaving a lasting legacy on those that view her paintings. “My art is unique and I put love into every piece. My goal is to make the world see a piece of me, my soul, my emotions and for these windows into my being to live forever in my work.”
With Victoria, the beauty is not just on the canvas but in front of it, as she herself is an accomplished model. Unfortunately this has meant that many people have underestimated her talents as an artist, with the narrow minded view that a model only knows how to pose in front of a camera. “ I love peoples reaction to my art, when the see what I have done for the first time they seem shocked. The most common response to my work is…oh my god, did you really paint this?”
